I’ve seen you every day but not a thing has changed.
A bubble of laughter but a year’s worth of pain.
Does your scars not make you weep or enraged?
But I guess this is just another devil’s dance that I won’t understand. (Verse one)

Caged dogs will always manage to escape.
Let’s light up this house till it’s no longer a home, I am what you made me.
Hero’s cease to exist, don’t look for a mask or cape.
I can’t take it all but for a day let me see what you see.
I can take this has been and make it a will be. (Chorus)

This isn’t the way it was supposed to be.
Behind those dead eyes, I see broken cries and a wisp of a dream.
Stop searching for sailboats on a dead sea.
Patterns may look alike but no two are the same. (Verse two)

Is this a blessing in disguise or a trick meant to fool untrained eyes?
Don’t quit the game, Sorry, but I refuse to let you lose.
Now’s no time to crawl, get up, stand with the skies.
Currents may drag and pull but you’ve got to swim to get to land. (Verse three)
