The water

Though the water rises
till it's up to our knees
it does not clean our soul
never to be free of disease
The water still comes
it waits for us all
how long will we stand
before we all break and fall
are you really strong as an ox
or are you just stuck in the mud
are you just waiting
for the water to replace your blood
what things we do
only to give up and fold
are the same things we do
to show we won't fit their mold
but the water still rises
you're stuck and can't go
to be free, yet trapped
dead by the waters below
