4 AM, how the time draws by
Waiting for a glimpse of sunrise
Can’t sleep under a haunting black sky
Pictures flashing through my eyes
Darkness seeping under the doors
A concrete city with walls and floors
Love locked hearts break away in the dark
Oh how deep scars leave a mark
To sleep in the sun ensures no dreams
Burning your skin rather than waking to screams
I want this to be over and a new day to start
For love is not for the faint of heart
