Memorizing Stars

I stood there

waiting on the miracle of you

I waited

standing by the water so blue

Blue like a sadness, a tradegy coming true

is it true, your promises are never seen through?

Through thick and thin, I've been honest

but honestly, I'm hurting

The pain is catching up

and takes over every part of me

You said words I didn't want to hear

but they still came out crystal clear

I had the moon's reflection to embrace me instead of your arms

and I laid there breathless

Memorizing stars

Memorizing stars

how lucky they are

to be so far

Far from this world

where a heart matters

where you put your faith in someone else just to have it all shatter

You left me

giving me darkened scars

Do you mind

letting me memorize stars?

Stars so bright and precious

You'd keep them in jars

Jars to be kept sacred

of everything that was ours

I dealt with all your lies and truths

and truthfully, I'm done

I feel sick of feeling like

I'm not important enough

You said words I didn't want to hear

but they still came out crystal clear

I had the moon's reflection to embrace me instead of your arms

and I laid there breathless

Memorizing stars

Memorizing stars

how lucky they are

to be so far

Far from this world

where a heart matters

where you put your faith in someone else just to have it all shatter
