Let's Watch The World Burn

Let me unravel the secrets that condemn your mind.
Let me peel away the misconceptions fed to you.
Let me show you the deal with the Devil those around you have signed.
Let me lead you out of your falsehood and into the purifying truth.

Death, destruction, poverty, to them, it's no concern.
So sit back, relax, and let's watch the world burn.

I'll show you the scarred, revolting face hidden behind their mask.
I'll show you the grim, foreboding facade that cloaks the lives we live.
I'll show you just how bright the fires burn as they continue their task.
I'll show you how little they truly care. How much they take, but never give.

War, disease, famine, to them, it's no concern.
So sit back, relax, and let's watch the world burn.

I can hear the Horsemen laughing as we bring about our own demise.
I can see it plain as day. A world of shadows, hate, and lies.
I can taste the succulent flavor of the world as morning dies.
I can smell the roasting souls and charred bones as the planet fades and sinks into night.

It may be frightening, but don't be scared.
Hold on tight, and know that I'll be there.
It may be disintegrating everywhere,
all around, and anywhere,
but know that I'm here to stand by your side.
So, are you ready to see it all die?

Homicide, crime, abuse, to them, it's no concern.
So sit back, relax, and let's watch the world burn.

This has to be one of my favorite poems that I've read in a long time!  It's poignant, truthful, and powerful.  Very good job in writing such a telling poem
