"Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth" -Pablo Picasso

All those memories of laughter
in the past
Remnants of a carefree childhood
gone too fast
Bitter feelings and stress are
everywhere
The easy answer beckons me
but I don't dare
[I write these words in hopes that someday
I'll be
Worth more in my own eyes than
just a hopeless misery
I can't neglect this
opportunity
A better world it seems and it will all be
For me]
I want to look inside society
Explore at best and maybe
make me free
I want my name to be valued someday
But history can wait
I need to change
my ways
[Chorus]
I need an arrow to point me
toward the way
The getting going is much
harder than they say
No doubt I have it all
I just need instead
The useful pointers that are inside my head
No more being a follower
No more daunting fears
No more blaming others for
all those wasted years
From now on I'll take chances
I'll be forever young
The seasons far more promising
and my life will go on
[I write these words in hopes that someday
I'll be
Worth more in my own eyes than
just a hopeless misery
I can't neglect this
opportunity
A better world it seems and it will all be
For me
For me
It will all be for me
and I'll be happy]

I wrote this song at a very hard time, and I was just wanting to get through it.
