Many have thought of songs to write
To show how things just aren’t going too right
In their lives.
Well, I know what that’s like.

I’m not the perfect straight-A student,
But I’m really not all that stupid.
I don’t have a crush on every guy I see,
And I don’t let them make complete fools out of me.

If you know what I’m saying
Then, why not claim it
As your song.
And it wont be too long.

Your song, your song, is a piece of my heart.
Your song, your song, will never be forgot.
If you’re feeling down
Why not dance around…
To your song!
And it won’t be too long.

Don’tcha just hate
Songs that are like a blank slate
To your mind?
If I try
To make this song your type,
Would ya get mad?
Or would ya laugh instead?

Your song, your song, is a piece of my heart.
Your song, your song, will never be forgot.
If you’re feeling down
Why not dance around…
To your song!
And it won’t be too long.

From this song you might think you know me.
From this song you might have thought you’ve read my diary.
But, oh, are you so wrong.
I told you this won’t take too long.

My song, your song, is a piece of my heart.
His song, her song, won’t ever be forgot.
If we’re feeling down
Why don’t we dance around…
To their song!
And it won’t be too long.
