I came around to that old house
remember the one we were fixing up? Paint splattered tarps
a few leaves
having made their way from above
the windowpane mostly chipped
one gaping hole from the bats swung
when we grew too violent

I trail the dust back to the upstairs corridors
the blood stains not inching one bit
the cobwebs didn't dare leave a shadow over
so many trapped flies
and suddenly a grandfather clock ticks
for the first time in forever

open the bathroom door
They scream
there's so much more to live for
the wraiths cry
We know what you're dreaming
we see why its easy
but open the god damn door

and the cracks above the banisters
bring me back with the light passing through
leading me due south
where as we kids we thought the attic
led us to some magic

but I have photographs
a bit burned from the passionate fire
I really came to see where the day turned to eternal darkness

The door shuts behind me
and suddenly a grandfather clock ticks
for the first time in forever

Open the bathroom door ( I collapse)
There's so much more to live for ( I find my head divided in two on her lap)

I know what you're dreaming( shes bleeding)
We see why its easy ( let her rest!)
but open the god damn door (x5)

but this gun in my hand
why? I promised Id keep her dream alive

Again, a piece with grammar issues up the ying-yang. These are lyrics for my solo alt Gothic metal project " Soiree at The Morgue," which I haven't made much progress in besides having 100s of sheets of lyrics at my disposal. Positive feed-back please! Enjoy!
