What She Would Rather Do

I fell in love with this one girl one day.
She helped me see I had to change,
But she didn't feel the same old way,
It turned my love into something strange.

I can barely view a pretty sight
Without her face coming into my mind.
I'm stuck in this dark cloudy night
The exit is impossible to find.

Cause she would rather kiss a bad beech tree
Than barely fall in love with me.
I keep getting this muck in my eye,
It makes me wonder why I even try.
She hates the single thought of love
Although it's a gift to us from above.
I don't know why and I haven't a clue,
But that's what she would rather do.

Every boy that's laid eyes on her.
Gets stuck in an endless soap opera.
But rather than get caught in the blur,
She'd turn the period to a comma.
She hates how beautiful she is.
She would rather just be friends.
But I feel like she is over-fizzed.
Our feeling she cannot apprehend.

I know one day, you will finally see
That one day, we can all be set free.
All the boys you've ever known will fall behind.
And our love will be one of a kind.
When you're ready I know that we can mend.
When you're ready, we'll all be at the end.
For one time, I hope that you can feel my love.
And I hope, it won't be something you'll get rid of.
