"The heart has reasons that reason does not understand" -Jacques Benigne Bossuel

I wonder about
those great distant places I’m never allowed
And I hide away at night,
dreaming of faces with hidden lights
And I dreamt you were one,
and we danced blindly with no reasons to run
See these problems I create
Here on the outside, I just write them all away

And we bend our knees and fold
against all the lies they thought you should know
And I thought we had enough
fiction in our lives
but at the end of the night
it’s fiction that’s keeping me alive

You kick at the walls,
Did it hurt you to see me keep them up so long?
Well they’re stronger now,
See I’ve been keeping busy ‘cause you’re never around
Now I’m ready for what’s next,
Give me one more thing for someone else to fix
And If today’s a rough wave
I’ll just paint myself divine and turn my head away

And I bend my knees and fold
against all the lies, I tried to let you know
Did you think I’d had enough?
Was it really me? Did I make you turn and run?
Oh I think we’ve had enough
fiction here tonight
But don’t you see, it’s keeping me alive?
