Those who can laugh without cause have either found the true meaning of happiness or have gone stark raving mad. ~Norm Papernick

I used to dream about love
Like it couldn’t be touched,
Or reached,
Only talked about

I knew invisible
Like the back of my hand,
Came to terms with it
Like an old friend

I smiled when my sisters
Got roses from lovers
And they introduced me
To boyfriends and brothers

Still, I never felt anything
Then he came along
With words like a song
Stuck fast in my head

He saved me instead
Of watching me drift
To a place I call never,
Where I’d be lonely forever

And it’s all thanks to you,
My Crayola Blue,
That I’m not quiet
Anymore

Yes, darling it’s true,
That Crayola Blue
Twinkled down,
And it felt magical

Now, nothing can stop me
From keeping your heart
While you hold onto mine
Tightly

I’m dancing in flames
While I whisper your name
I’m burning, and smiling
So brightly

Now, it’s safe to land
So please take my hand
And slowly
Guide me home

I’m content to trace
The lines of your face
Over and over
Until infinity

And it’s all thanks to you,
My Crayola Blue,
That I’m not quiet
Anymore

Yes, darling it’s true,
That Crayola Blue
Twinkled down,
And it felt magical

There is a letter I wrote
Ages ago
When I couldn’t speak
And tears stained my cheeks

It begged anyone listening
While my eyes were glistening
To find warm arms
To wrap me in

Dear, I guess you’re my quilt,
And these walls we’ve built
Will keep us close enough
For now

I’d say I was flying
But then I’d be lying
Because this is
So much better

And it’s all thanks to you,
My Crayola Blue,
That I’m not quiet
Anymore

Yes, darling it’s true,
That Crayola Blue
Twinkled down,
And it still feels magical

Crayola blue is describing his eyes here. I was on a mental adjective hunt, and had a *ding, light bulb* moment when I decided his eyes could be Crayola blue!

"The best things in life are left unseen. That's why we close our eyes when we cry, kiss, and dream."

This is really beautiful! I love the part where you describe being so alone and your sisters getting roses! I also really like the part where you say it's better than flying. One suggestionishh thing is that the rhyme scheme is extremely inconsistent which makes the flow of the poem choppy. However, one side of me enjoys that uniqueness. Good job.(:
