"The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for."-Bob Marley

I guess I should've seen the cover
Before I tried to read the book
It was filled with a pain
That I couldn't overlook
But as my eyes filled with water
Thick as The Rain
It was more your fault now
Than your past days

My heart went out to that boy in cold
And my soul went out and found more God than I've ever known
But as my being stretched to thin
I felt more hurt than seen within
From that boy who still hangs his head
In the rain

I know it's not my problem because I tried
But I don't know where happily ever after goes
Time after time
It's not a memory to make
When you hear your heart strings cut
And your hopes fall with a thud

I guess I should've seen the cover
Before I tried to read the book
It was filled with a pain
That I couldn't overlook
But as my eyes filled with water
Thick as The Rain
It was more your fault
Than your past days

Maybe promises are made to be broken
If that's true I sure am the best one
And maybe life's all just a messed up fairytale
Another lie that people tell us just for fun

But possibly I wasn't made to write in your story's pages
I'm the memories that burn in the candle light
The moments that you hide
In the back of your mind

I guess I should've seen the cover
Before I tried to read the book
It's still filled with a pain
That I will never overlook
And as my eyes fill with water
that falls Thick as The Rain
Memories flood dreams
As I remember your name

I want people to understand that this song is explaining that I tried to be friends with someone by trying to know about the real them to quickly, and we never ended up getting along well because of it. Sometimes people just want to take any kind of relationship slowly. Be ready for that.
