American life is just a go go go
What we’re missing we just don’t know
Like the hope soaring through the sunrise
American life is just a go go go
What we’re missing we just don’t know
Like the sorrow as the joy it fades away
American life is just a go go go
What we’re missing we just don’t know
Like the flowers bursting in vibrant bloom

(CHORUS) American life is just a go go go
We’re missing so much we just don’t know
What, we’re missing while we speed
What, Life we could have seen yeah

Have you ever stopped for a moment?
An’ taken in the chilling air
So much beauty in the wind that’s a blowing’
It makes you feel so bare
Have you ever watched the sunrise?
Do you remember?
Did it bring bright tears to your eyes?
That morning in September!
And have you ever seen the sunset
The day fade away
Have you even truly lived yet?
Why hide your pain
American life is just a go go go
What they’re missing they just don’t know
Like the children playing’ in the park
American life is just a go go go
What they’re missing they just don’t know
Like the cool breeze surfing through the air
American life is just a go go go
What they’re missing they just don’t know
Like the moon and stars in dark

(CHORUS) American life is just a go go go
We’re missing so much we just don’t know
What, we’re missing while we speed
What, Life we could have seen yeah

American life is just a go go go
But we all need to just take it slow
Sit back, relax
And breathe!

This song was written one day as I sat, on the front steps of my high school from 6:30 to 7:30 in the morning and watched the sunrise.
