A shining light
Inside your head
A wispy chain
Like a fire’s smoke
Never realizing
What you had
Until it’s all gone

But then you remember
Looking at the photographs
Of your baby girl
Going off to school
Of your first lover
Who gave you your first kiss
Of your wedding day
The beauty and the charm
Their glint’s engraved
In your mind forever
They’re sparkling memories

A whisper down the street
Shocks you
A smell startles you
Makes you freeze in your path
You stop and think
Where you heard that whisper
Where you smelled that smell

But then you remember
Looking at the photographs
Of your grandparents
And all their precious wisdom
Of your many birthdays
All the cakes and gifts
Of your wondrous friends
All the trips and years
Their glints engraved
In your mind forever
They’re sparkling memories

They light your day
They bring laughter
They make the world go round
They’re a shining spark
Of recognition at
The slightest touch
And you don’t know
Where they came from

But then you remember
Looking at the photographs
Of your baby girl
Going off to school
Of your first lover
Who gave you your first kiss
Of your wedding day
The beauty and the charm

<Slower>
Of your glowing family
All the holidays you shared together
Their glints engraved
In your mind forever
Your sparkling memory

<Still Slow>
But then you remember
The photographs
Their glints engraved
Forever as your
Sparkling memory

I was camping with my family, and I wanted to write a song for them. I had been working for a while to think of a decent song about memories, and this was the result. My family enjoys it, but I'm still not sure if its any good. Hope you enjoy it!! :D
