"If there is a book you want to read but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." -Toni Morrison

[VERSE 1]
You were 4 and I was 3
Playing in the backyard you and me,
Just two kids, being kids.
I didn't know much but I knew enough,
You thought you were all that and you thought you were tough,
You were never shy, head up to the sky.

[CHORUS]
I wanna take a trip, far back in time,
To the days where things were easy,
Had no worries, everything was breezy.
To the days where all we needed was each other,
Laughing and joking, you were like a brother.
I miss those times, just you and I.

[VERSE 2]
You were 8 years old and you had it all planned,
Took me to the backyard where you kissed my hand.
I never knew, you felt that way too.
We had some good times but knew they wouldn't last.
Sitting in the yard in the soft green grass,
We sang along, to our favorite songs.

[CHORUS]
I wanna take a trip, far back in time,
To the days where things were easy,
Had no worries, everything was breezy.
To the days where all we needed was each other,
Laughing and joking, you were like a brother.
I miss those times, just you and I.

[VERSE 3]
Well we were growing up and you were moving on,
Making new friends, I was left behind, felt so declined.
And when you started high school we didn't hang much.
I missed your smile and I missed your touch,
And when you sang, voices of angels rang.

*Possible [BRIDGE]
Our friends would always joke about you and I,
Growing up and falling in love.
We just smiled, and rolled our eyes.

Just a song I'm working on about my best guy friend and me.
