"...Love is strong as death; Jeasousy is cruel as the grave; the flames thereof are a most vehement flame." -Song of Solomon 8:6

You always knew just what to say,
always knew just what to do
to light up my world.
When I was down and out
you came around to lift me up
and for that I loved you.
But when it came to that four-letter word
you never understood
that I meant what I said
and you broke my heart
saying me, loving her,
and you never would let go,
so I'm letting go instead.

And I, I can get along without you,
I can do just fine without you,
but then, why is this
tearing me apart?
Because I, I can live alone without you,
I can breathe alright without you.
So why is it breaking my heart
when I say, "Goodbye"?

You know you loved me just as much as,
if not more than, you loved her.
I was the one who understood,
the one who'd been here
all these years.
And I gave you a choice,
but you were "confused".
And you couldn't leave her,
but you wouldn't let me go.
So I decided for you.

And I, I can get along without you,
I can do just fine without you,
but then, why is this
tearing me apart?
Because I, I can live alone without you,
I can breathe alright without you.
So why is it breaking my heart
when I say, "Goodbye"?

Goodbye.
You never could make up your mind.
Goodbye.
You ripped and tore at my heart
Goodbye.

I'm choosing to let go,
I'm choosing to move on,
but will I ever love like this again?

I, I can get along without you,
I can do just fine without you,
but then, why is this
tearing up my heart?
I, I can get along without you,
I can do just fine without you,
so why is this tearing me apart?
Because I can see without you,
I can move without you,
I can feel without you,
and I can live alone without you,
I can breathe alright without you.
So why is it breaking my heart
when I say, "Goodbye"?

Maybe I just don't know
if I can love
without you.

This was inspired by a very complex "love triangle" my junior year of high-school.
