"Michael, Caroline asked me what would I say if I knew you could hear me. I said: 'I do know. I love you. God, I miss you, and I forgive you." -Remember me

Can we turn back the time,
to when all stories rhymed?
The princess always met the prince,
ending with wedding bliss.

Wishing on a shooting star,
my dreams took me very far
far, far away
up to the day I met you.

But dreams don't always come true,
and I'm still locked in a tower, waiting for you.
and my mom told me that he would call.
But I'm here waiting, for nothing at all.

So, I wished on that very same star.
Began to dream but didn't get very far.
Somehow I knew today wasn't the day
my prince would come and take me away.

But I began to write a very new story,
about a girl who met a guy without a worry.
He's beautiful, and wonderful, everything you'd wish,
but there's a twist, he's not the prince.

I tried, and tired to make him mine
but the show didn't fit every time.
In the stories the prince was easy to spot,
but in real life it's harder than not.

Can we turn back the clocks,
the time we we're on the docks.
I told you my story,
your smile said 'don't worry'.

Little did I know that that was the day
when you'd find me and we'd run away,
My dream became reality,
you had the key to set me free.

I know now that dreams do come true,
how else could I have met you?
My mom told me, the weddings about to start.
My prince, I love you with all of my heart.

First off, if you are reading this I just want to say 'thank you'. You are incredible and don't possibly know how much it means to me that you've actually just read something I wrote on my bedroom floor while I should have been studying for a chemistry test. I'm a horrible singer, but I love music and especially enjoy lyrics. Taylor Swift is my absolute inspiration. Her accomplishments as a songwriter inspired me to give it a shot.

This song is about "happily ever after." That's one of the few things in this world that I truly believe in with all of my heart. It doesn't have to happen the way the way it does in story books. It's something that's hard to find, and easy to stumble upon. And that's what this song is about.

Thank you so much for your comments, your kind words and thoughts are greatly appreciated. I'll be sure to check out your songs and rate them as well. In case you're interested my other song I have posted on TeenInk is called "Cold Shoulders." And I have two poems, "Poetic Justice" and "Let Our Teardrops Flood The Ocean"

First off, I swear you and I could be sisters! Everything you said in the description beside the article is totally completely true about me too. Taylor Swift is my idol and she is my greatest inspiration too. Second, I LOVE this song. The lyrics are sooooo true. I almost teared up at the line "In the stories the prince was easy to spot, but in real life it's harder than not" but I was smiling at the end where it said "I know now that dreams do come true, how else could I have met you?" It sounds just like a real fairytale, and the tone of the entire song kind of does have a Taylor Swift effect. You rock at writing and I'd love it if you could read some of my songs. "The You I Thought I Knew" "Lucky Number" "What Are You Waiting For" and "Fading Memory" are four examples, but you don't have to read all of them if you don't want to.
