My sanity slips from within my clenched fist
and I will plummet to a bleak, crushing abyss.
A friendly face becomes a famished incubus.
I’ve lost it all.

Normalcy takes on
a new dimension or a paranormal stain.
Menace and doom will plague my weak, infected brain.
Living my life causes me agonizing pain.
I am ensnared.

Thought transcends space
between logic, occult and everyday.
To my dark nightmares I have fallen prey.
I cannot unravel from the tendrils of mental decay.
Cerebral ties to reality fray.
Hallucinations overwhelm me.

I’ve grown tired of the hellish life that I am forced to endure.
I have lost all faith in the prospect of a cure.
There is nothing in this world that I find pure.
I fear I’m doomed.
