He is naïve, but sincere
He is the precision in insanity
Like water rushing over lost pains of vanity
This boy lives in a lucid, static haze
A sheet of clear plastic mars his sweet gaze
This boy thinks he has everything deciphered
Never stops to consider society's truths are siphoned

A delusion of grandeur
A conceptual cliché
A boy locked in self-imposed slander
Sheltered velocity results in decay
An endless cycle; reflections in a cracked mirror
Apologetic eyes dissolute righteous fear
How could this happen to such a genial boy?

He is gullible, but perseveres
The spewing flow of info that's spurted
Decodes what is (but not what isn't) worded
He's disemboweling text reading in between the lines
Disregards what's really there he's chained and to refined
He thinks he’s free like a misguided fray
He's aware of the body but not the decay

A delusion of grandeur
A conceptual cliché
A boy locked in self-imposed slander
Sheltered velocity results in decay
An endless cycle; reflections in a cracked mirror
Apologetic eyes dissolute righteous fear
How could this happen to such a genial boy?

He is misinformed, yet revered
He piles his love in anyone
And falls from her immature fun
He thought she was so serious
Like a phoenix reborn, he's delirious
He lives in a fairy tale bubble, his patronized reality
Back when one pain seemed like a fatality

A delusion of grandeur
A conceptual cliché
A boy locked in self-imposed slander
Sheltered velocity results in decay
An endless cycle; reflections in a cracked mirror
Apologetic eyes dissolute righteous fear
How could this happen to such a genial boy?

He is naïve, hiding behind a blockage of synthetic fear
A noble fighter with a bandaged heart
His spirit is a pipe bomb it was lit from his start
Naive, gullible, misinformed: one in the same; angelic, emotional intact
Plays on a whim; writes in casual syntax
And despite his salient, injected flaw
He is heroic and has it all.

The author's comments:
(Some lines have alternations to make it make more sense) I wrote this poem/song for english class. We had to pick a person and write about a single characteristic in them, and we weren't allowed to mention ourself at all. Sooo I thought I'd submit it.
