Love Drunk

When you walk into a room I can’t find the words to say
my speech it stutters. I can’t keep my feelings at bay
and it’s like every time I see you my heart begins to flutter
You’re like a magnet, I just can’t stay away
You’re the predator and I am your pray

The easy way we laugh together
the look in your eyes spells out forever
I’ll follow you whenever, wherever
together we make each other soar
I wouldn’t know how to love anyone else anymore

When you smile the universe falters
momentarily weakened by your stunning mouth
you talk with your slight drawl from the south
In my dreams I hear nothing else

Memories flash by like moving pictures
a flip book of our life
my wedding dress and your tux
the day we were joined as man and wife
these black and white silhouettes
moments I won’t ever regret

The easy way we laugh together
the look in your eyes spells out forever
I’ll follow you whenever, wherever
together we make each other soar
I wouldn’t know how to love anyone else anymore

The verses that I scribble down for you
they come from my heart and
I write them down as they pass through
every poem makes a beach, each word a grain of sand
on this beach is where I imagine us walking hand and hand

With your hand in mine we hold more than just the world
we conquer each crashing wave as they become unfurled
My pen poised on paper, my heart leaping from my chest
I describe my feelings of elation, show that I am truly blessed

Through it all nothing matters but...

The easy way we laugh together
the look in your eyes spells out forever
I’ll follow you whenever, wherever
together we make each other soar
I don’t think it’s possible to love anyone else anymore
