Gray Skies

March 2, 2011
And the skies turn gray
While the teary drops fall
And let me just say
That I gave it my all
I'm not asking for your trust
Just for some understanding
And if at last I must
Answer how i've been handling
This sad, sad hopeless ending
Of broken hearts that just aren't mending
Don't point the finger at me
When you're the one that decided to leave

So don't keep looking at me expecting me to break
That's not a public choice I wanna make
I don't feel like staring at your guilt-ridden face
So do me a favor and get out of this place

The first drop falls down on me as I walk away and go
It marks the beginning of a new start
Or could it be the end, I don't want to know
I'm trying to distract myself from the pain that burning through my heart
It works for now, got no long term plans
But I'm fine, don't need anyone to hold my hand
Gotta hold my head up, make sure no one sees through me
They all see strong and independent me
I see someone who was mis-handled and got broken
Waiting for someone to come and fix them

I'm left in the dust of what I thought could be
And is it just me or is this night really long?
Stretching for weeks on end or is it just me?
You're the one that decided to leave

So don't keep looking at me expecting me to break
That's not a public choice I wanna make
I don't feel like staring all day at your guilt-ridden face
So do me a favor and get out of this place

Just please don't talk I don't want to listen
I'm done with all your lies
Don't tell me to look in your eyes
Your childish charm has worn off, long ago
And I should've known who really are from the start
And saved myself from a bleeding broken heart

But sorry to tell you
But my skies are clearing up
There a forecast of blue skies
With a chance of happiness

So don't keep looking at me expecting me to break
That's not a public choice I wanna make
I don't feel like staring at your guilt-ridden face
So do me a favor and get out of this place
