The Last Remedy

Sometimes it hurts, the things that we do...
The way you see me, and the way I see you.
Confusion spawns and fury ignites
But sometimes I almost kinda like our fights
You yell at me
I yell at you
Anger in our voices but something else too
The truth of the matter I really think is
That your heart isn't hers and mine isn't his
I can't help but want
I can't help but need
Sometimes I'm sick of this endless good deed
Of sacrificing for someone else's sake
Of fending off the opportunity to finally awake
I'm sick of him
I'm sick of her
I'm sick of you
I'm sick of me
Instead of them let's make a we
Instead of her
Let's make an I
Instead of him
Let's make a you
Instead of anger
Let's make peace
Instead of falling alone through the cold
Let's run together in the rain
Because even when I hated you
I really loved you
And I wouldn't walk alone in the sunlight
Given the chance to walk in the dark with you
Because it just so happens that no matter what I do
I just can't seem to get over you
And whoever says sunshine brings happiness
Has clearly never seen us dance in the rain
And that's the one remedy,
The very last remedy,
To keep away the pain.
The pain...
The pain.
So just take my hand....
And come into the rain.
The rain...
The rain.
