The dark

The sun is going down
The light slips away
That’s when the creeps and haunts come out to play
They’re there just to scare you to instill a little fear
Don’t you feel vulnerable now that your sight isn’t very clear

Don’t be afraid of the dark
Be afraid of what it hides
It’s when the monsters come out to scare you back inside
It’s a cold night
No moon above
Maybe the stars were never that bright

You never know what lurks
Just beyond where the lights end
all the scary things that you can’t see
but you know are there
there not tangible but it’s something that you feel
Be afraid be very afraid because that’s not the wind

Don’t be afraid of the dark
Be afraid of what it hides
It’s when the monsters come out to scare you back inside

Don’t look now
What’s that sound?
The creak of a gate
The rustle of a bush
It’s just enough to feed your paranoia
But don’t be so sure that
It’s not you’re imagination

Don’t be afraid of the dark
Be afraid of what it hides
It’s when the monsters come out to scare you back inside

You’re not paranoid
There is really something there
Sharp teeth and claws
Oh my, but don’t be scared
I don’t bite

No don’t be afraid don’t be afraid
No don’t be afraid of the dark
