"Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anyone expects of you....Never excuse yourself."

It’s getting late; the stars are shining brightly,
Everything is perfect, caz your right here.
We’re lying in a field; and it’s so inspiring.

Crickets sing us a lullaby,
time stands still as I look in your eyes,
And you wrap your arms around me tight,
I never felt this comfortable,
until the day you walked into my life.

You have a funny way, of knowing me better,
than I’ve ever known myself.
The world disappears all I can see is you’re here,
I’m still not sure how I got so lucky.

Cause…(Refrain)
For the first time, I got the best of something.
For the first time, I’m really falling in love,
And for the first time, someone feels the same as I do
For the first, it’s all mine.

The funny thing, about you and me together,
No one ever thought we’d be this strong…
But then you caught my eye,
Everyone thought I was mistaken,
No one believed we’d could ever make it,

And we prove them all wrong,
Ya we prove them all wrong.

So they can stand there, thinking what they want to,
But no one knows you the way that I do.
It’s in your eyes, the way that you love me.
Sparks fly, and I can feel your heart beat,
When you’re lying next to me.

My life starts today, right here, right now,
And it’s better than any fairytale.
Don’t care who hears me say, I love you.
Don’t care who’s watching as I hug you.

Refrain x2
… We’re lying in a field,
Wrapped in your arms stars shine above us,
Time stands still; you look in my eyes,
And the crickets sing us a lullaby…

I was inspired to write this song for my best friend and her than boyfriend. It was the first time she had ever fallen in love. As I wrote this song, I pictured the camp where they had met, which has the most breathtaking scenery and open fields I've ever seen.
