I hope I can get this right.

The days are slipping away,

and I can't seem to grasp a single thing.

The hours turn to minutes,

I'm running out of time.

The words I speak are limited,

I hope I can get this right.

So give me a chance,

the chance that I never had.

I just need enough time to convince you,

I need you.

Try to act like you're listening,

cause when I'm through,

you'll finally see the truth.

I'm trippin' over my own words,

trembling in fear of your reaction.

In awe of how you can just ignore my feelings,

Wondering if you can hear my heart beating.

The clock's ticking in my mind,

I hope I can get this right.

So give me a chance,

the chance that I never had.

I just need enough time to convince you,

I need you.

Try to act like you're listening,

cause when I'm through,

you'll finally see the truth.

I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve,

in front of you on my knees.

Praying you'll open your eyes and see,

asking you to look deeply,

into my heart.

Here,

grab my hand.

Do you feel the 'sparks'?

So give me a chance,

the chance that I never had.

Give me a chance,

I hope I can get this right.

I'm running out of time,

just one last chance.

The clocks ticking in my mind,

hopefully I got it right.
