These scars these cars
These boulevards all in multiples
Many streets with many beats
And many fires inferno
All theses city flames and gas fumes
Filling up my heart
I’m intoxicated, evaporating,
And my body’s falling a part

I can feel the canyon start to split
I hear Niagara’s calls
Roosevelt didn’t plan for this
And now the redwood falls
Why wasn’t my heart protected
Will anyone even remember my name
Or am I just a childhood park
A lost imagery game

I knew it was happening
The wolves chasing at our feet
But we’re both just sprinters
Tired after the heat
And we’re not like those buffalo
Protected under fire
No we’re the cows in multiples
Just put up free for slaughter

I can feel the canyon start to split
I hear Niagara’s calls
Roosevelt didn’t plan for this
And now the redwood falls
Why wasn’t my heart protected
Will anyone even remember my name
Or am I just a childhood park
A lost imagery game

We’ve had 44 protectors
Yet I’m still running, chased
They want my heart upon the wall
Or at least just in a glass case
Why don’t they see I’m just
As scarce as those that monarchs fly
I guess its just because I’m not as pretty
Doomed as my black wings try to fly

Endangered endangered
My hearts going extinct
I can’t keep fighting nature
As she kills me in my sleep
And now that little flower
That no one ever bothered to smell
Well those petals are drooping far now
And giving off a poison as well

I can feel the canyon start to split
I hear Niagara’s calls
Roosevelt didn’t plan for this
And now a redwood falls
Why wasn’t my heart protected
Will anyone remember my name
Or am I just a childhood park
A lost imaginary game
