I wonder if God takes broken things
And makes them new again
And helps them laugh again
And lets them sing again
I wonder if He takes all the world
And holds it to His ear
And stands outside its door
And waits for us to hear
I wonder
I wonder
I wonder
I wonder if He sees us
When we're crying out for mercy
When our souls are stained for good
And our passions become empty
I wonder if each mistake
Feels like a thorn inside His heart
That hurts and aches
And makes the memories come
I wonder how He feels
When we take all that's pure and real
And make it fake
And make it break
I wonder when God made us
Were we already His own?
Did He cradle us inside a love
Mothers haven't known
I wonder if He hopes
That we'll come back into His arms
And leave behind our darkness
And mute out all alarms
I wonder if He'll let us
Carry up our broken things
So He can make them new
And help them laugh
And maybe even sing
I wonder
I wonder
I wonder
And makes them new again
And helps them laugh again
And lets them sing again
I wonder if He takes all the world
And holds it to His ear
And stands outside its door
And waits for us to hear
I wonder
I wonder
I wonder
I wonder if He sees us
When we're crying out for mercy
When our souls are stained for good
And our passions become empty
I wonder if each mistake
Feels like a thorn inside His heart

I wonder how He feels

I wonder
I wonder
I wonder
