When there's so much that I've got to learn
There's so much I'll have to trust
But when you teach more than I want to learn
The grounding's gonna make a fuss

The grounding's gonna make a fuss
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us?

I'm sitting down to pull you close
Like I always have
I'm calling you to let you know
You don't have to feel so bad
Well, I remember not too long ago
We didn't worry so much
But that time's gone and it had to go
No use in making a fuss

No use in making a fuss
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us?

You could blame it on the time
And try to forget the words
Words that were said only meant to hurt
You could try to smudge and blur
Now, I'm on the go
Now, I'm on the dust
Now, I'm gonna grow
Grow too, if you must

Grow too, if you must
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us??

Look at me in the darkness
Look at me in the light
And think about which part of this
Just doesn't look right
Did you love enough
Did you trust too much
Did you lose your love
Did you lose your trust

Did you lose your trust
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us?

How far am I gonna look
How far am I gonna crawl
How far has this thing been took
How far am I gonna fall
Now, I'm on the go
Now, I'm on the dust
Now, I'm gonna grow
Grow too, if you must

Grow too, if you must
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us?
Whatcha gonna make of us?

The author's comments:
One night, I was struggling to come up with some way to write about something that I was feeling. It was one of those long summer nights alone, when all you can do is think to yourself- drives you crazy. And I struggled with no really good ideas until this seemed to fall out of the night sky. I've never been so satisfied about something I've written in such a short time frame. I had a demo for this rocker recorded within a day, and the lyrics I really felt. It's always best when you feel what you're saying instead of thinking and forcing it. Read these how you want- a breakup? A young adult anthem? Thanks for reading!
