Did You Like Me Better When I Was Here?

did you like me better when i was here
when you had me close, when you had me near
are you crying now, is that a tear,
did you like me better when i was here

you treated me wrong
you treated me oh so bad
you wouldn't let me be happy
you would always make me sad
where can you run? nowhere to hide
except maybe, towards, towards whats inside
but wait a minute
then you would run into what you feel
you would feel the heartbeat
of a wound thats surely slow to heal
do you miss my voice, do you miss my smile
do you ask yourself, oh why my child!

did you like me better when i was here
when you had me close, when you had me near
are you crying now, is that a tear
did you like me better when i was here

did you like me better when i was here
when you had me close, when you had me near
are you crying now, is that a tear
did you like me better when i was here

when you had me close
did you ever think to see
if the words you were saying
were putting me through misery
you saw my smile but never my frown
you supported me when i was already up
but never when i was down

you treated me wrong
you treated me oh so bad
but don't worry mom
because im not mad
how can i be?
if i am free
if i am free
yes i am free

This piece was written from the heart. Just something I wanted to write and hopefully I hope people see themselves in the words. Don't take your loved ones for granted.
