In The Mirror

I look in the mirror and I see,
Someone staring back at me
And she’s sorry,
For what she did
Her face is blank,
Her mind is wandering,
She can barely think
She misses him so much
Closes her eyes to rest,
She can’t sleep at all these days,

I look in the mirror and I see,
Someone who is not me,
She’s scared and she’s frightened
For what’s in the future,
I thought I was strong,
I thought I could take it

I look in the mirror and I see,
A girl who I can’t be,
Everyone thinks I’m perfect,
I can take anything,
Not a fault in sight,
But deep inside,
I’ve always known they’re wrong,
I’m not perfect,
No where close.

I look in the mirror and I see,
What I’ve accepted to be me,
I’m scared and I’m sorry,
I’m in the starry sky,
I miss him like crazy,
My mind is so hazy,
And life has just been a blur.

(Instrumental solo)

I look in the mirror and I see,
The person I wanna be,
Trying so hard to keep myself in line,
No more wishing I was perfect,
No more trying to be cool,
I’ve accepted me for who I am.

I look in the mirror and I see,
Myself, I am free,
I just want to be happy,
And I am.
Never again will I let you control my life.
You’re what screwed me up in the first place,
You’re the reason I tried so hard.
But I’m not perfect,
And I don’t care.
Because I look in the mirror and I see
Me…

Great job! I love the emotion and personal strength behind it. :) Would you mind reading some of my poems? Thanks!
