Still the Change

staring forward, staring back
the things we said, the way we fell
how can this be?
healing from this mess we made
its a story
and it hurts so bad
to let go, to give in
the way you changed
its concerning
I'm the same

and we are all older
and we live for the day
and we are getting older
in different ways
but still we can stay the same

rushing in and rushing out
memories are like a million
screaming my name
looking back, looking forward
I'll have hope

and we are all older
and we live for the day
and we are getting older
in different ways
but still we can stay the same

looking back, looking forward
seasons change
and we will change but we can stay the same
stay the same
stay the same
but still we change

I love to write, especially using play on words and writing intellectually. I was inspired to write this piece by a line from a Gwen Stefani song called "Cool" that says "we have changed but were still the same". I was also inspired by events in my life concerning graduating high school and changes that have taken place in the lives of my friends. We grow older and learn more and become different people in a sense but that doesnt mean our morality should change and who we really are.
