Life my own way

What do i want to be?
I want to look and see.
but i know i can't today.
Because its their say....

Tell me what to say
and tell me what to do.
But don't tell me to be like you,
Cus' I'll do life my own way.
I'll do life my own way.

You know what you want..
You don't know what they'll think
You just want to go,
but they might say no.

So you don't because they told you so...

Tell me what to say,
and tell me what to do,
but don't tell me how to be like you.
Cus' I'll do life my own way...
I'll do life my own way.

Yeah, I'll do life my own way.
Sorry to take your power away...
But i have to do life my own way.

I love the point of renewal. You can definitely tell by reading it that you are marking a turning point, and that this part of your life is over.

I can feel the anger too. Almost as if it were heat. But maybe anger isn't the right word....seriousness...maybe

I like how even though in this poem you're being told to do this and that always in the back of your mind youre like "No, that's not me" That's how I am. You should try poems that dont rhyme. I think they would flow much better and you seem like you could pull one off!!!! You're very deep, that's the type of poem you need.

I can kinda relate to this poem. It reminds me of one of my favorite songs. :) This sends a powerful message, keep up the good writing!

Kay, I think it's cool you wanting to liberate yourself from the expectations of others and be who you are. I'm not sure how I feel about the song itself. Sorry, I don't know so I don't think I can fairly critique it. that's me being honest.
