If I Was With You

verse 1:
Days mark the passing of good and bad things
To live on and love til the ending you sing.
The voices lift higher the more you move on,
The words twisting faster into a love song.
If only, if only the woodpecker cries,
Your tears will dry faster when the loneliness dies.

Chorus:
I will come,
When you call out my name
I will sing
To break away this chain
And I will speak, when all I have are the single words I need to say to you,
The days would grow longer,
If I was with you

verse 2:
Hush now be still for the wind holds the tune,
Kisses and sweet words
From here to the moon.

Desire for you is what helps to hold true
For even a small smile can give off a clue.
I need you to want me as I do want you,
Since to love you is about all I can do!

Chorus:
I will come,
When you call out my name
I will sing
To break away this chain

And I will speak, when all I have are the single words I need to say to you,
The days would grow longer
If I was with you

verse 3:
The heart can grow fonder when you least expect it to

Drawing out the feelings that you never knew.
How can something simple be quite so complex
Different outcomes and different effects
There is a reason we search with strong drive
If love were a small thing then would we survive?

Chorus:
I will come,
When you call out my name
I will sing
To break away this chain

And I will speak, when all I have are the single words I need to say to you,
The days would grow longer
If I was with you

There's a reason that one plus one equals two
The days would grow longer
If I was with you.

I love this! Parts of it remind me of the poem in Holes. Especially the woodpecker part! :)
