Saints and Sinners

Was in another lifetime
One of death and darkness
Caesar walked this earth
Led the Roman Empire To conquer
Then came along the Ides of March and he was no more
life can kill and preserve
Without a single word
Living and breathing
death and bleeding
Once in America
Abe Lincoln lived and breathed
He saved the country
Freed the slaves
But by a bullet he was deceived
Life was an awful place once more
Once upon an Alabama morning
Dr. King cried out
He was shot for simply
Helping people out
Forever a martyr scratched in stone
Living

Breathing

All Alone
One day
You and I will die
Nothing’s going to stop it
Don’t even cry
Hopefully
A sinner dies with the saints
Yet a saint is forever more
Human race
Preserve and lace
The crown of thorns
