I know this is the end
Like a graveyard knows the dead
And the shovels in its shed
Like the gravestones know the names
Of the people who decay
Beneath the grass each day
I know this is the end
But let us just pretend
Things are on the mend
And we’ll all be okay
Let’s pretend that one day
We’ll look back and say
It all turned out fine
It just took some time
And some yellow sunshine
But the truth is, friends
We can’t always pretend
Because truly, this is the end
