Orange Peel

i tried everything
to make myself forget
burnt all your things
erased all your steps

but the smell of you
it lives with me still
thats something i can't get rid of
the thing is
i don't even know if i want to

the day i thought everything was gone
the second i had lost every trace
that was when i saw, reflected in the window,
your beautiful, perfect face
the moment i changed the bed sheets
felt my life becoming stable
i saw the peel from your orange that morning sitting on the table

thats all it took to realize
life was nothing, even if i tried
so i found your heat in your special chair
and that was where i cried

the day i thought everything was gone
the second i had lost every trace
that was when i saw, reflected in the window,
your beautiful face
the moment i changed the bed sheets
felt my life becoming stable
i saw the peel from your orange that morning sitting on the table
