tommorows a mystery, yesterdays history, but today is a gift, that's why we call it the present.

It's hard to say how i feel
so i write it down in verse
on the outside I'm as strong as steel
but the smile you see is rehearsed.

I joke around and laugh with you
and pretend that I'm ok
but every fairytale isn't true
so I'll lock it all away.

I don't hear my heart beat
could it be it's broken...?
I'll cry alone on the street
and my tears will be my token.

I watch the moon wax and wane
jealously with ease
to start over and erase every stain
to sleep with sweet release.

So I'll pretend to smile
and watch you smile back
and I'll go the extra mile
to make up for what i lack.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness.
Robert Frost

I know how you feel. Great poem keep writing! It's so well written it makes me want to weep, but I'll smile and walk away!
