"Life is a journey, not a race."

I'm just another one,

I always question what I just done.

I thought you were my everything

but to you I was nothing.

All the tears that stream,

just remind of the love that was just a dream.

All I needed was a piece of your heart,

but I guess all that had fallen apart.

People say time will heal the pain,

and yet here I am still wishing I stayed out of his lane.

All he had do was ask me what was my name,

after that I was stuck on a wall like a picture frame,

I just think back to that and I just feel shame

Not love,

More like an angel that fell from above,

You left me like a dove.

You were like an animal hunting for its pray

All you had to do was push me your way

Just like that I was hooked in like nails,

Most of what you said were lies but I didn't pay attention to the deatails.

I cried and I cried,

But you just stayed over on the other side,

All I ever wanted was to be your bride.

You made me believe in this fairytale

But in the end all you had to do was bail,

I tried not to let it get to me but it was a fail.

I will never listen to my heart again,

You left a mark like a paper that was written by pen.

The light that was once there is gone,

Now I have to learn to carry on.

I wish love would come back to me today,

but now it's time for me to fly away.

The author's comments:

I just really love write and wanted to turn to a different direction in my writing so I decided I'd write about something like teen romance and how it might end. Also writing Limericks is sort of a challenge for me so I wanted to see how far I could get into this poem. Hope you like it
