Dull, achy, stiff from staring
Clocks are ticking, lights are glaring
My head, it throbs,
My mind, it sobs,
Who’d have thought a page could mock?
Well, that’s what comes from writer’s block.

Broken pencils, scrubbed erasers
Paper from a thousand acres
The more I wait
The more I hate!
Ideas are growing vague and distant,
And all my thoughts are inconsistent.

I started half an hour ago
With an idea on which to grow
But now it’s worse
With every verse.
Logic slowly slips away.
My thoughts begin to go astray.

I feel insulted by my writing
I thought that I was more exiting
This is exhausting
And it is costing
A couple hours worth of time
Just to get my words to rhyme.

But I can’t go! I’ve more to write!
And I won’t leave without a fight.
I sit and stare,
No longer care,
I fight against profanity,
I must repair my sanity.

Oh, Writer’s Block, I detest you!
You are the evil virus who
Infects my brain
Makes me insane!
I violently turn out the light
I’m done! I’m quitting for the night.

This is a silly poem that I wrote about our worst enemy. As Charles Bukowski says, "Writing about a writer's block is better than not writing at all." Thanks to my best friend, who helped me out with editing :)
