Confident yet Insecure.
I wonder why there is war
Gunshots and screams fill my ears like water.
War fills my eyes like tears threatening to fall.
Confident yet Insecure

Everything isn’t as I pretend
My blood boils over in anger
Touching the minds and hearts of people around me
Like a porcelain doll, I worry ill break
Tears spill over at the sight of death and despair
Confident yet Insecure

I am a wounded animal
Stop the violence
Thoughts of peace fill my head like a flooded river
Trying to be understanding and open-minded of other people
In my dreams, war doesn’t exist
Confident yet Insecure

this poem started out as an I am poem in my freshman year English class, then turned into something more. it showed my feeling that I buried down inside of me because of how i thought others would view me if the knew how I felt
