Free At Last
Free!
 I once was down
 My smile once a frown
But now that I have chosen to be me
 I am no longer down,

  I am free!
 Now that I’m free
 I have the confidence
To be anything I want to be,

    I am free!
Being free has really changed me
 I am a better me
 I’m not one to scheme
I no longer sting like a bee
 But am gentle
Like the breeze through a tree,

    I am free!
Free is not a state of being
 But a state of mind
 One that for me
Was not so easy to find
 Free and me
 Sometimes seemed as though
We were not meant to be
But now that I am comfortable being me,

  I am free!
 I am free to laugh
 It’s no longer fake
I am free to let people go
 It’s for my own sake
 I am free to smile
Others try to bring me down
 I am no longer lost
 I am free to say
 I have been found
I am free to be me
 To let other’s see
Exactly who I am supposed to be
 And the real me is,

  Free!
 Can’t you see?
Free was always meant to be,

   I am free!
