I fell in love with the stars accidentally
On one especially darkened night
It was the first time I'd heard their whispers
Though they'd been talking my whole life

They requested my presence outdoors
So humbly oblige did I
With a dimming light in one hand
And an especially curious mind

Barefoot steps on dew grass
Away from familiar sights
A craned neck and head to see
These beauties at great heights

Then they told me a story
Too special to repeat
I sat and listen in silence
Even my thoughts dared not impede

The light I carried then went out
But these stars they showed me how
With a little appreciation
Nature's well endowed

And with Mother's guidance
I made my way back to my bed
Keeping the story with me
From these stars that I'd just met
