Gladiator

He gets slapped to the ground
Stands back up, can’t back down
It’s a little late, he’s in deep now.
Dead black eyes
Like gazing into the night
Ducks to the left; jumps to the right.
Empty air between a fist and his face
But it was his choice not to leave this place
Six feet deep is where he prays not to lay.
He closes his eyes
He steps into the night
He swings both his fists
And one of them missed…
But one solid punch is all it takes
To make a bully fall from grace.

i like how intense it is and how you compare a gladiator fight to a school conflict. and the final line-thought provoking!
