"Live and Learn"

The plague of the temporarily unattainable
Sweeping through the minds of the dreamers
To each his own, but listen close
Despite the proximity, a white classroom continues to bind
Anticipation is rising, individuals turn morose
Maintain your sanity, it’s not much longer
I imagine traversing a field of dry, cracked stalks
Under the soaring oaks is where I would find
A bubbling, cool spring, peppered with rocks
Seemingly beckoning all who pass by to unwind
A rope swing, a steady breeze, rural summer
Only in my mind, only in my mind

This is the feeling I have in every class when I think about how close summer is.
