Life as a Candle

A candle begins shiny, no marks
It’s height is far from what holds it.
But as it is lit and brightens the dark
The candle turns used and unfit
Experience has burned it down
The wax has all dripped, the flame has gone out
Yet, which path is the road better traveled?
A shiny new candle, or a lifetime unraveled?
