My love is patient,
My love is kind,
but there comes a time when I must leave it behind.

I wanna be remembered as your favorite book to read,
Always the one you hated to leave.

When you dust off the cover and see that familiar face,
I hope you smile and remember my grace.

The tears are long gone,
Only happiness remains,
So please don't keep my memory in vain.

When our stars cross paths and we reminisce,
please remember everything you've missed.

And remember the night I
whispered in your ear,
I love you my dear

The author's comments:
This piece, like most of mine, was written while I was battling a broken heart. It reflex's my relationship with this person and my hopes that I would somehow be kept in his heart. The last stanza was to showcase our last night together.
