Live Like There's No Tomorrow

There go the people.
I must follow them for I am their leader.
Alexandre Ledru-Rollin

The friends laugh and play
Freckles of blood all the way
Now but decorate.

The author's comments:
Story of Crocus and Hermes. Due to the fact that the Haiku only consists of 17 syllables in English (5-7-5 in three lines) the poem does not reveal much and so one must interpret. The first line tells us that Hermes and Crocus are fooling around and the next shows that an accident happens where Crocus dies. The last line tells us how the Crocus then transforms into a flower and has speckles of red color on its petals that looks like Crocus’ blood is splattered all over, in a gruesome but enchanting way.
