a flowing white dress
family members arrive
nerves escalating
musicians practice
notes filling the buzzing air
bridesmaids form a line
wedding march begins
pairs walk in matching outfits
finally, she stands
father on her arm
“Please, Dad, do not let me fall”
a whispered, “never”
tiny steps forward
the groom can only smile
a promise is made
she becomes his own
her innocence is taken
as they exchange rings
the dancing begins
love permeates the venue
a family joined
