Attempt

Alone in the dark
Everybody is trying
To find the light switch

Grappling with life
Afloat adrift awoken
Meaningless meaning

Words are just markings
Or vibrations through the air
Or all or nothing

Letters made from limbs
Of broken stick-figure men
Who died to make sense

Sometimes it’s too hard
To try, fearing failure, so
We don’t try at all

Search for meaning here
If you find some, let me know
It was an accident

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem when I was very into haiku, but I didn't find myself able to express what I wanted in only seventeen syllables, so instead, I wrote this poem, where every stanza is in haiku form.
