Darkness overcomes
The summer sun has been lost
And so too this day
Snowman in the field
Solemnly standing his post
Frozen still in time
Chilled air strikes the skin
As if to give a warning
Of days soon to come
Gentle hummingbird
Always in an eager flight
Nothing can stop it
